Bandari FC and Gor Mahia eliminated from CAF Confederations

Kenyan Clubs Gor Mahia and Bandari FC participation in the CAF federations came to an end in their respective games that were played in both MISC Kasarani and Kinshasa on Sunday. Bandari lost 1-0 to visitors Horoya AC, Mandela Ocansey scored the second half goal earning a 5-2 win on aggregate and qualify for the group stages.

In Kinshasa DC Motema Pembe beat Gor Mahia 2-1 eliminating the Kenyan champions 3-2 on aggregate.

Despite their elimination, Bandari coach Bernard Mwalala said he was satisfied with his team’s achievement in the second tier competition of the African club football.

“We’ve exited the tournament like warriors, but we hold our heads high for the far we’ve reached. We’ve shown that Bandari is now a force to reckon with in Kenyan football. I’m still proud of my players,” said Mwalala.

Bandari now shifts their attention to the Kenyan Premier League where they will play against Western Stima this Wednesday at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
